Founding history
History in brief
We established the foundation on 16 November 2022. The name LEGACY AND INNOVATION describes our approach: we combine practitioners' experience with confidential testing of ideas and responsible preparation for deployment.
We chose an English name deliberately. We plan to work in Poland, across Europe and in the United Kingdom - a shared, widely understood name makes partnership across borders easier, without leaving our Polish roots behind.
We entered the KRS on 8 August 2025 under number 0001188002. The foundation is not in the entrepreneurs' register, does not hold OPP status and was established for an indefinite period.
The Management Board represents the foundation. President Krzysztof Mariusz Zieliński may act alone; two Board members may also represent the foundation jointly. Supervision: the minister responsible for the economy and the Starosta of Opatów.

Founder and President of the Board. Over 20 years at the intersection of technology, local networks and community work, including leading the Wolności.net neighbourhood network (2002-2017). At the foundation he leads strategy, partnerships and responsible testing of innovations before wider deployment.
Four principles we follow for protecting results, the student pathway, a small test with people, and technology partnership.
01
Confidentiality and protecting results
What to document, what not to publish too early, and when to involve a patent attorney or lawyer.
02
From diploma to protection
How to turn student work into research, intellectual property protection, or deployment.
03
A small test with people
A small experiment with partners and future users that provides evidence before a larger deployment decision. This is our social pilot method.
04
Technologies in a partnership model
Solutions developed under partnership and licensing, after confirming the rights available to the foundation. We describe a family of solutions, not a product catalogue.
What we want to change - many goals, one coherent mission
The statute joins heritage protection with education, health, technology, social development and research. Below: two main pillars, then a readable overview of 17 goals. The full legal wording remains in the statute PDF.
