Crisis lodging - a dignified place right away

Fast, temporary and dignified shelter for people who need a safe place to stay.

Pilot · partners wanted

Problem

After a disaster, evacuation or housing crisis there is a shortage of fast, dignified overnight places that a municipality or NGO can start without a long build.

Solution

We prepare temporary places to stay that can be set up quickly together with local governments and aid organisations. The programme includes clear intake rules and care for the people using the shelter.

Your role

  • Municipality / crisis NGO partner
  • Logistics and care volunteer
  • Resident intake coordinator

Crisis lodging provides a safe, temporary and dignified place to stay for people affected by disaster, evacuation or a housing crisis.

The programme sets clear rules for intake, day-to-day support and the end of a stay.

Who it is for

  • Municipalities and civilian services in crisis scenarios
  • Humanitarian and aid organisations
  • People who need temporary, dignified lodging
  • Volunteers for logistics, care and crisis communication

First stage

  • Pilot scenario with one municipality or NGO partner
  • Intake, care and stay-end procedure
  • Small comfort and safety test with residents
  • Agree on how to run it with a local partner

Foundation model

The foundation prepares the programme, operating rules and cooperation with partners. The field partner handles resident intake and day-to-day care.
