Problem

City history often feels distant. Games are either only on a phone or only on a table. There is no bridge from a walk and a museum visit to a game you can hold and play with family.

Solution

Participants find traces of history in the city, make a paper map, design and print tokens, and build rules for their own board game. The first stage is one game about a chosen place, ready to play at home or at school.

City of Stories invites children and youth to discover the history of their city through play and creative work.

Participants look for interesting places and stories, and make maps, 3D models, figures and pieces for their own board games.

Older groups can go further with figure painting, electronics, mechatronics, podcasts and short films. The project connects with Living Memory and Digital Heritage 3D.

The foundation prepares the method, protection of the solution and partner recruitment. Museums, schools and guides bring knowledge and places. Living Memory supplies place stories. Digital Heritage 3D teaches modelling and printing. City of Stories turns that into a game experience.
