Moving figures and game tokens

A figure with moving parts and a swappable prop - both a toy and a board-game token.

Problem

A solid body is enough for a first print, but older children want a figure that moves, lets them swap a prop and works in a game on the table.

Solution

We teach simple connections: pegs and print in place joints wherever that is safe. The result is a pawn between 25 and 32 millimetres tall with a swappable prop in its hand. We choose themes so that no violent scenes appear in the public message.

In this workshop a figure stops being one solid body. Children learn to join parts with pegs, to design joints printed in one piece and to swap the prop in the character’s hand.

This card is a working draft used to gather feedback from parents. The project is linked to Digital Heritage 3D. We publish neither children’s names nor protected brand characters on the site.
