Problem

Interest in robotics and science fiction is strong, but there is no bridge between the idea and a first simple model with a moving detail and a light.

Solution

We model robots that help: they tidy up, carry things and give signals. On the advanced track we add a diode, a simple sensor and one moving part. Where it fits naturally we use components recovered in the Second Life IT project.

Participants design robots that help: they tidy up, carry things and give signals. On the advanced track a diode, a simple sensor and one moving element are added, and some components come from computers recovered in the Second Life IT project.

This card is a working draft used to gather feedback from parents. The project is linked to Digital Heritage 3D. We publish neither children’s names nor protected brand characters on the site.

Foundation model

Volunteering

We are looking for volunteers to support workshop stations and to keep safety rules in place.

Across all foundation projects we seek volunteers for field work, documentation, education, logistics and participant care.

For outstanding candidates we offer placements in every format: on-site, remote and hybrid, as well as research commissions, sponsorship of engineering and master's theses, doctoral work and joint research with universities and student research groups.
