Tools and packs for NGOs

A playbook, a website stack and vendor agreements - so other organisations can reuse the tools without giving up their brand.

Pilot · open knowledge

Problem

Small NGOs and mentors have a mission but lack a reusable pack: a site, forms, graphics, CI, and a vendor agreement (GDPR, organisation-owned accounts, an exit). Large accelerator cloud credits are often for companies, not for a registered foundation.

Solution

We share the foundation method: playbook need → MVP → pilot → KPIs; Hugo + GitLab Pages + external forms; a vendor pack pattern (scope, DPA, account owner, renewal, data export). The site lists tool names and nonprofit programmes - no API keys, contract scans or bank numbers.

Your role

  • NGO or local government following the checklist
  • Vendor with a nonprofit programme
  • Volunteer documenting the stack

Tools and packs for NGOs is a separate programme from Talent Map: we are not mapping one person’s path here. We share a tooling set - a social-project playbook, a website stack and a vendor-agreement pattern.

Cause: career activation and inclusion. Apply via the pack / vendor form.

We name programmes (for example GitLab for Nonprofits, TechSoup). We do not publish keys, contract scans or bank details.

Who it is for

  • Foundations and associations launching a programme site
  • Municipal IT teams and pilot partners
  • Vendors offering an NGO pack (DPA, org account)
  • Students documenting ops as a placement

First stage

  • Programme card and method article
  • Zero-to-Pages checklist
  • Agreement types (MOU, LOI, DPA) described, not full legal text
  • Applications to nonprofit programmes (TechSoup, GitLab, Google, Cloudflare)

Foundation model

This is separate from Talent Map: tools and vendors here, people’s paths there. The foundation publishes the playbook and stack. Another NGO keeps its own brand. Accelerator credits (AWS, Azure, GCP, AI models) are a company or investor-partner track - we do not mix statutory accounts with a startup cloud bill. Agreements: metadata internally; scans stay off the public website.

We are looking for volunteers and academic partners

Across all foundation projects we seek volunteers for field work, documentation, education, logistics and participant care.

For outstanding candidates we offer placements in every format: on-site, remote and hybrid, as well as research commissions, sponsorship of engineering and master's theses, doctoral work and joint research with universities and student research groups.
